In March of 2021, I was commissioned to illustrate 9 portraits for a massive 600 foot mural located at the NFL West Coast HQ in Inglewood at SoFi Stadium Park. Among 22 artists, I was asked to illustrate the following influential individuals: Bill Belichick, Bo Jackson, Jerry Rice, Jim Thorpe, Joe Namath, Peyton “The Sheriff” Manning, Terrell Owens, Tom Landry, William “Refrigerator” Perry.
As I reflect back on my career at the end of this year, I can't help but acknowledge the miraculous opportunities that God has provided in the aftermath of so many personal tragedies, conflicts, failings, major health issues, and loss. Through some of the darkest moments of my life, God has taught me to persevere and to rely on Him. Here are 9 portraits that encapsulate so much more than the incredible individuals they represent. These illustrations are time capsules that remind me of the trials and seemingly insurmountable hurdles my family and I have faced over the years.
